Alamo Area Home Care Council Board 2026

Meet the leadership team serving AAHCC this year.


This is a new board with a shared heart for transparency, collaboration, and strengthening our home care community. Each person brings experience, passion, and a genuine desire to serve our members well.


We are committed to building a council that is welcoming, supportive, and focused on creating value for YOU as members.

Erin Dortch

President


Erin Dortch is a dedicated hospice nurse and healthcare leader with a deep passion for compassionate, patient-centered care. With years of experience supporting individuals and families through life’s most vulnerable moments, Erin is known for her warmth, professionalism, and unwavering commitment to dignity at the end of life.


She currently serves as President of the Alamo Area Home Care Council, where she advocates for high-quality home health and hospice services across the community. In this role, Erin brings together providers, clinicians, and leaders to strengthen collaboration, education, and standards of care.


Erin’s leadership style is rooted in empathy, service, and real-world experience, making her a respected voice in senior and end-of-life healthcare.



Lataisha Young

Vice-President


A dedicated healthcare professional with over 35 years of experience serving individuals and families with compassion and excellence. She began her career in hospice care, where she developed a deep understanding of comfort-focused, person-centered care, and later transitioned into home care, where she has spent more than 15 years supporting clients in their homes.


Lataisha is a Certified Dementia Practitioner (CDP) and an EDEN at Home Trainer, with a strong focus on dignity, independence, and quality of life for older adults. Throughout her career, she has worked with several large home care franchises, gaining extensive leadership and operational experience. For the past four years, Lataisha has served as Agency Director with Caring Senior Service, where she continues to lead with compassion, mentor caregivers, and advocate for seniors and their families.

Monica Ann Garcia

Secretary


Being a caregiver to both her parents, Monica Ann is passionate about patient care, education and quality customer service. She is motivated to be the ultimate physician liaison and senior resource advocate for the San Antonio community. 


After graduating from Texas Tech University, she has garnered 20 plus years of experience in marketing for the senior healthcare arena in the areas of hospice, pain management and physical therapy. She is employed at Fyzical Therapy and Balance of Dezavala. 

Will Anthony

Treasurer


Will is the co-founder of San Antonio Home Care and is deeply committed to helping individuals remain comfortable and supported in their homes. His passion for home care grew from caring for his grandmother and witnessing firsthand how meaningful consistent, compassionate care can be for families.


Will believes good care begins with listening, trust, and clear communication. He holds a B.A. in Political Science and an M.Ed. in Higher Education Administration from the University of the Incarnate Word, is fluent in Spanish, and is dedicated to strengthening the home care community across San Antonio.


Gwendolyn Jones

Membership


Gwendolyn is the Owner/Operator of ProspHer Financial Consulting Services LLC a Life and Medicare Insurance Company and is a certified CPR/BLS instructor for AHA and ARC. She has a BS in Mathematics, a MAEd in Education and an MSA in School Administration. She spent over two decades working in public school education in North Carolina.


Since relocating to Texas, she has worked in senior home care and has built strong, collaborative relationships with professionals across every level of the home care continuum.


Gwendolyn’s strong background in educational leadership, healthcare training, and community engagement helps her to focus on helping individuals and families access resources that support safety, stability, and long-term well-being.

Janelle Cunningham

Communications



Janelle Cunningham has 20 years of experience in Senior Healthcare and is a graduate of UT Austin, with a degree in Health Promotion and Fitness and a minor in Nutrition. 


Her career in healthcare and Senior Services, started with Lincare Home O2 services. She was Valedictorian of her training class that focused on COPD and CHF clinical information and how O2, Cpaps, and nebulizers benefited patients with those disease processes. 


She was then recruited to a Home Health Liaison position where her college degree and her experiences at Lincare and working with Seniors, really came full circle. She is passionate about allowing patients the opportunity and ability to improve and recover in the comfort of their home setting.  


Janelle has also worked in the assisted living and memory care setting and in hospice care. She loves to be a resource and help patients and families understand their different care options and what is covered under different insurances. 


Janelle now is the Business Development Specialist at Theracare Home Health. They are under the umbrella of services and facilities owned by Cantex. 

Mary YBarra

Building Bridges


Mary Ybarra is a dedicated senior care advocate with a strong background in marketing, sales, and operations within the senior living and home care industries. Originally from San Angelo, Texas, Mary moved to San Antonio in 2020 and has spent the last two years serving as Director of Marketing and Sales at New Forest Haven, supporting seniors and families through independent and assisted living decisions with compassion and integrity.


Mary began her career in home care during her teens, gaining hands-on experience that later expanded into insurance and billing. This foundation naturally led her into marketing and sales, where she excels at building trust-based relationships and educating families on care options. Known for her strong work ethic, resilience, and advocacy, Mary is passionate about serving the senior community and making a meaningful impact in the lives of others.


Outside of work, she is a proud dog mama and remains deeply committed to community connection and service.
